We would like to update you on the wide range of services we provide in treating vascular disease through our Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at the University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital. We remain the primary tertiary vascular practice in western and central Florida for complex vascular conditions, utilize the newest endovascular/minimally-invasive techniques and medical therapies, and offer quality, interdisciplinary medical care and resources. We are active participants in a number of national research protocols and offer multiple educational programs for physicians, care providers, and patients. Below is an overview of several rapidly evolving treatments we provide for vascular disorders.
Aortic aneurysm and other pathologies:
- Endovascular repairs of thoracic aortic aneurysms, acute and chronic dissections, and traumatic transactions with participation in several national multicenter trials
- More than 350 endovascular repairs of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) with some of the best long-term results in the country
- Repair of complex pararenal and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms
- Endovascular repair of popliteal aneurysms
- Ultrasound screening programs for AAA
- Participation in multicenter PIVOTAL trial (endovascular repair vs. surveillance) for small AAA
- More than 150 carotid angioplasty/stenting procedures with stroke rate of < 2%
- Endovascular and open surgical treatment of complex aortic arch branch and carotid diseases
- New medical therapies for treating claudication and research trials with experimental pharmacologic agents
- New percutaneous endovascular techniques (Silverhawk atherectomy, stents and stent grafts, new angioplasty balloon treatments)
- Excellent long-term potency and limb salvage with bypass graft procedures augmented by duplex surveillance
